Soft Skills Session
Saturday, 30th November, was the last day of English classes at Binzani Mahila Mahavidyalaya. Nisha and Pallavi visited the college and delivered a 10-minute inspiring speech, which was followed by a soft skills session conducted by Ms. Lekha Gondhane.
Skill development projects for Visually Impaired Youth and Hearing-Impaired Youth.
Courses for Visually Impaired youth:
• Computer Classes:
To enable visually impaired youngsters to keep up with rapid changes in technology and varying job-market requirements, we use a special software that converts text to speech.
Age Group: 18 Years & above.
Duration: 6 Months/ 2 Hrs. daily.
Venue: Civil Lines
• Online Coaching for Competitive Exams:
We have experienced faculty members who provide expert guidance, valuable insights, tips, and strategies to tackle different sections of the exam factually and logically.
Age Group: 18 Years & above.
Duration: 6 Months/ 1 Hr. daily.
Venue: Civil lines.
• Massage Training:
Youth with visual impairments have an incredible sense of touch. Our training helps students to pursue careers in the wellness industry. This course is conducted in collaboration with Baidyanath Life Sciences.
Age Group: 18 Years & above.
Duration: 4 Months/ 2 Hrs. daily.
Venue: Civil Lines
• Tele-calling BPO Voice Classes:
This is a Delhi’s NIIT Foundation certified training which prepares candidates for jobs in the customer service.
Age Group: 18 Years & above.
Duration: 4 Months/ 1 Hr. daily.

Courses for Hearing Impaired youth:
• Hospitality Training:
This course is conducted in collaboration with LAD College, Seminary Hills, Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. LAD College redesigned their Hotel Management Training Course especially for youth with hearing impairment. Our children are taught by their expert and highly experienced faculty.
Age Group: 18 Years & above.
Duration: 4 Months/ 2 Hrs. daily.
Venue: Civil Lines
• Computer Class: We teach MS Office, Tally, and graphic designing, as graphic designing is a highly in-demand job and our students can find work quickly.
Age Group: 18 Years & above.
Duration: 4 Months/ 1 Hr. daily.

• Coaching for Competitive Exams:
To make sure all our resources are accessible to our students, we started these classes in 2018. These classes are conducted offline with the help of sign language.
Age Group: 18 Years & above.
Duration: 6 Months/ 1 Hrs. daily.

Women Empowerment:
• Sewing Class: This project aims to give skills in tailoring, bag making, and fashion design for women so they can self-sustain. Embroidery sessions are also taken from time to time for them. We started sewing classes in 2019 so that women can live with dignity and earn money themselves. During this training, women learn and develop skills in tailoring to work independently or with boutiques.
Age Group: 18 Years & above.
Duration: 4 Months: 2 Hrs. daily.

• BEAUTY PARLOUR:
Chitnavis trust continually endeavours for holistic development of underprivileged & marginalized women. To achieve women empowerment, it is important to focus on economic independence, literacy and self-confidence. Thus, we started the Beauty Parlour classes in 2021 to equip women with any skill they may to start offering their own parlour services or work at a salon. We also teach students how to apply mehendi as a part of our parlour course.
Age Group: 18 Years & above.
Duration: 4 Months: 1 Hrs. daily.

Skill Development For Differently Abled Youth
Visually Impaired:
The Trust provides specialised training to visually impaired youth so they can build independent careers.
Programs include:
• Computer classes with text-to-speech software
• Competitive exam coaching
• Massage training in collaboration with Baidyanath Life Sciences
• Tele-calling BPO voice training (NIIT certified)
Hearing Impaired:
Started in 2018, this initiative helps students with hearing impairments learn employable skills and secure placements.
Programs include:
• Hospitality training with LAD College’s Hotel Management Department
• Computer courses in MS Office, Tally, and graphic design
• Competitive exam coaching using sign language
• Spoken English training to build confidence and employability
Skill Development For Youth
Computer & Spoken English Classes
As we step into a more technology-reliant world, it is important to know how to use this technology efficiently. Keeping this in mind, we established a computer centre in 2010 at Chitnavis Centre and Chitnavis Wada. Our partnership with Delhi’s NIIT Foundation enables us to offer a range of courses designed to equip individuals with essential computer skills. These courses include:
- NIIT’s Certificate Course in Active Basic-IT:
- NIIT’s Certificate Course in Desktop Publishing:
Apart from this, to increase a person’s employability and confidence, we also offer spoken English classes. This will increase the learner’s opportunities for personal and professional growth. Through these initiatives, we want to provide equal access to quality learning resources to everyone irrespective of their financial or personal background or disabilities.
