Akshar began in 2013 as a school-after-school program for children from low-income families who struggle with basic English and Math. Research shows many children lose crucial learning years early on, and Akshar fills that gap through structured academic support.
Classes are held at the Trust office. Each day starts with a prayer and a nutritious meal provided by Seva Kitchen, followed by focused English and Math sessions for Grades 1–10.
Saturdays are dedicated to extracurricular enrichment—sports, chess, origami, pottery, music, and sessions on health, hygiene, safety, manners, and behaviour.
The Trust also organises health checkups, educational visits, and picnics for the children.
Children’s Library :
Libraries are a major source of information for children. We believe that the books, stored on the shelves of libraries, are a source of endless wisdom and knowledge. It provides an opportunity to check out books for a better understanding of any subject and enhance general awareness. Apart from this, it also encourages children to pick up books and thus develop a reading habit, a culture that has unfortunately started fading away with the heavy use of technology.
We have two libraries- one at the Chitnavis Trust cottage, another at Chitnavis Wada, Zenda Chowk, Mahal office. In their free time, students are encouraged to visit these libraries and spend time reading and collecting knowledge.
